Workin' For The Weekend: Muscle Cars, Parades, Music & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We are heading into the dog days of summer, and nothing says summer more than a good community festival.

From St. Paul and Prior Lake, to Edina and Maple Grove, we have fun festivities across the Twin Cities in Workin' for the Weekend.

Street Machines Nationals

Get ready motor heads, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Machine Nationals returns to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

It's a celebration of horsepower and muscle cars, and plenty of the fastest street machines from across the country.

The fun takes place Friday through Sunday.

Tickets start at $13.

Lake Front Music

How about some music on the water?

Head to Prior Lake for the annual Lake Front Music Fest for two nights of music.

Eric Hutchinson kicks of a night of rock Friday and don't miss Martina McBride performing Saturday for country night at Lake Front Park.

Single tickets purchased in advance are $30 for both nights.

Middle Eastern Festival

Explore the Middle East in West St. Paul.

The 9th Annual St. George Middle Eastern Festival begins Friday.

There's fun for the whole family including traditional lamb roast, dance and, of course, camel rides.

Crazy Days

Find some crazy good deals at 50th and France's Crazy Days.

Shop for special sidewalk sales at stores such as Cooks of Crocus Hill and Pacifier and there will also be food deals at restaurants like Pig and Fiddle.

Crazy Days takes place Friday through Sunday.

Maple Grove Parade

And who doesn't love a parade?

Families and friends will gather Thursday for the Maple Grove Days parade.

You can wave to boy scouts, clowns, marching bands and more.

The parade begins at 6:10 p.m.

Maple Grove Days is a five-day festival.

There will be all kinds of kids events, an art fair and of course fireworks.
