1 Dead, 2 Hopitalized After North Mpls. Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting that took place in the city's north side Saturday.

At 8 p.m., officers responded to the sound of gunshots at 30th Avenue North and Newton Avenue North, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. At the scene, they found a woman with a gunshot wound. After police attempted CPR, paramedics pronounced the woman dead when they arrived on scene.

While officers were on scene, two men showed up to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries connected to the shooting, police said. Both are in stable condition.

Police said information on suspects will be released in the next day or two.

"We want our community members to talk with our officers," said Minneapolis Police Department Public Information Officer Corey Schmidt.
