Bottled Water Donated To Twin Cities Police, State Patrol

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police officers and state troopers in the Twin Cities will be able to grab some free bottled water when they head out on their patrols Friday.

For the past couple of nights, local families dropped off water, Gatorade and food at the Minneapolis and St. Paul Police Departments and the State Patrol.

Two girls in White Bear Lake wanted to thank the police officers so they went on social media and asked for donations. More than 70 families made donations.

"We just want to acknowledge. They're on ten hour days here, I know they're on twelve hour days over in St. Paul, and we just know they're away from their families a lot. We just want to make sure we're delivering some product to them to recognize that effort, that extra effort that they're putting in," community member Brian Sherrick said.

They were able to bring donations to all three St. Paul Police precincts, five Minneapolis Police precincts, the State Patrol in Oakdale and the White Bear Lake Police department.
