Wisconsin's Rep. Duffy Says Democratic Party Is In Disarray

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Rep. Sean Duffy of Wisconsin says it's clear the Democratic Party is in disarray following the first night of its national convention in Philadelphia.

In a conference call with reporters Tuesday, Duffy pointed to protests from supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and the resignation of Democratic Party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz after leaked emails suggested the Democratic National Committee favored Hillary Clinton during the primaries.

Duffy acknowledges the Republicans had a "raucous campaign season" but says the convention spurred unity. He pointed to delegates booing Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for not endorsing nominee Donald Trump as an example.

Both conventions have highlighted divisions in the two parties, with an anti-Trump contingency protesting the adopted Republican convention rules and Sanders supporters mounting protests, despite Sanders' calls for unity.
