Southbound I-35W To Close In North Metro This Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – MnDOT says a 5-mile stretch of southbound Interstate 35W will close in the north metro this weekend for a resurfacing project.

The closure will go into effect Friday at 7 p.m., shutting off the southbound lanes of the interstate from Interstate 694 in the north to Highway 36 in the south.

Southbound drivers will find a detour taking them south on Interstate 694 and then west on Highway 36.

The closed I-35W lanes are slated to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

All of the resurfacing work on the interstate is scheduled to be completed in mid-August.
