Minnesota Nurses Working To Reach New Contract
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Nurses Association is trying again Monday to make progress with Allina toward a new contract.
They've been working without one since June 1 and staged a planned, one-week strike before making their own contract proposal last month. Rick Fuentes is a spokesman for the union.
"After negotiations ended the Friday before last, nurses were very disappointed that they made an offer to Allina Health, and Allina decided that it wasn't enough and they asked for more," he said.
In a statement, Allina said it's prepared to keep bargaining until both sides agree to a contract.
