Police: Bystander Injured In North Mpls. Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting that left a bystander injured Thursday morning.
According to police, the shooting was reported just after 10 a.m. at Fremont Ave. N. and Dowling Ave N. in north Minneapolis.
When police arrived, they found a bystander – who was not targeted by the shooter or shooters – who had non-life threatening injuries to the face.
Police say they were able to make three arrests that were possibly related to the shooting. One person was arrested after boarding a bus near the scene.
The other two arrests were made by the Minnesota State Patrol, who attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation. That vehicle fled and led troopers on a short pursuit. One of the suspects bailed out of the vehicle while the other suspect continued driving for a short while before they were both eventually taken into custody.
Police are now working to determine whether the three arrested individuals are connected to the shooting incident.
