Study: Dog Owners Are Twice As Likely To Run Outdoors

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Can you ditch the weights and gym membership and just adopt a dog instead? Apparently, yes.

A new survey shows dog owners are twice as likely to run outdoors at least once a week and they say exercising is much more enjoyable with a pet by their side.

To be clear: the study was done by Purina, so they may want those pets to exercise so they get hungrier.

But the survey shows more than half of dog owners say they're more active because of their pet.

Almost three in four cat owners say their pet positively impacts their health.
