Sheriff: Teenage Girl Reportedly Groped By Man In Ramsey

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are investigating after a teenage girl reported that she was groped at a park in Ramsey Monday afternoon.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the teenage girl reported that at around 4 p.m. she was at the playground area of Emerald Pond Park, located on the 6000 block of 142nd Ave NW. There, she said a man touched her inappropriately.

The suspect is described as follows: a white man in his mid-20s with a medium build, around 5-foot-7, short/messy dirty blonde hair, light shadow-type beard with a tattoo on one bicep. He was wearing a non-descript T-shirt with shorts at the time.

The victim said the man was using a metal detector in the park and initially engaged the child after she asked him about the detector and his use of it. There were two vehicles in the parking lot at the time – a dark sedan and a gray colored van.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 763-427-1212.
