Wild Changing Goal Song To Prince's 'Let's Go Crazy'

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Wild announced Tuesday that after surveying its season ticket-holders, they are changing their goal song.

Starting Sept. 27 when the Wild host the Colorado Avalanche in preseason action, when the Wild score a goal you'll now hear Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" blasting throughout Xcel Energy Center. The Wild first played the song to honor Prince during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Dallas Stars. That was just a few days after the sudden passing of the music icon.

Wild season ticket-holders voted nearly 2-to-1 in favor of the change. Team officials also said they received a number calls, emails and comments on social media to make the change. The Wild had previously used "Crowd Chant" after a goal.

Single-game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Xcel Energy Center box office.
