FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) – Although the first Monday at the Great Minnesota Get-Together brought hot and humid weather, the WCCO booth was celebrating the great outdoors.
Or, rather, “The Great Indoors,” a new comedy debuting in October.
Fair-goers were asked to participate in outdoorsy contests, competing to see who could stuff a backpack or set up a tent the quickest.
Meanwhile, reporter Nina Moini set out again this year to see what people brought to the fair in their fanny packs.
Rachel Slavik, on the other hand, had more culinary interests. She found the fair’s new “hidden” foods – the items that didn’t make it on to the fair’s official new eats list.
Speaking of food, the WCCO crew got to try some deep-fried s’mores and pretzel-wrapped hot dogs.
You can see all of this in the videos below.
And if you’re at the fair, come see us. Our booth is at the corner of Carnes and Dan Patch. You can watch one of our newscasts and even report on the Great Minnesota Get-Together in our State Fair Experience.
