Sheriff: Montrose Man Dies After Being Dragged By Truck; 2 Arrested

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Wright County say two people were arrested Sunday after an 18-year-old man was found unconscious in the street and later died.

Sheriff Joe Hagerty says his office received a report early Sunday morning of a body in the road near the 500 block of 1st Street North.

The victim, identified as Justin Harvey of Montrose, had been dragged by a pickup truck, a preliminary investigation found.

Deputies treated Harvey at the scene. He died later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The investigation found that Harvey had gotten into a confrontation with the person in the truck’s passenger seat. During the fight, Harvey was dragged a short distance by the truck.

The sheriff says two people were arrested and booked into the county jail on criminal vehicular operation and robbery charges.

Their identities were not released.
