Dog Wakes Family After Roof Catches Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis family has its dog to thank for letting them know their house was on fire.

Early Tuesday morning, lightning hit a home on the 3700 block of Pleasant Avenue South causing a fire on the roof.

The family's dog woke the four members, which alerted them to the fire. All made it out of the home safely.

Crews from Minneapolis Fire Department were able to put out the flames, but the fire did burn a hole through the roof.

No one was hurt.
