4 Things To Know: Teddy's Injury, Trump Heads To Mexico & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- From Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's serious injury to Donald Trump heading to Mexico before immigration speech, here are the four stories to know for Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Teddy's Season-Ending Injury

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is expected to be out the entire season -- after getting injured during practice. He dislocated his left knee and tore his ACL while dropping back to pass. The team says there is no nerve or arterial damage. Bridgewater will have surgery in the next few days and is expected to make a full recovery.

Donald Trump Travels To Mexico

Donald Trump travels to Mexico Wednesday to meet privately with the country's president. Then, he'll deliver a major speech on immigration in Arizona. On the Democratic side, the FBI is expected to release documents, as early as today, related to its investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.

Tropical Storm Near Florida

People in Florida are keeping a close eye on a tropical depression that could bring heavy rain and flooding to the Gulf Coast. It's just one of three storms threatening Florida, North Carolina and Hawaii. While this level of activity is extreme, it's not unusual. The peak of hurricane season usually extends from late August through early October.

Best Places For Homeowners

Portland, Phoenix, Atlanta, Las Vegas and the Twin Cities are the best metropolitan areas for homeowners. That's according to a report from Bankrate.com. It reviewed a number of factors, including home affordability, property taxes and energy and maintenance costs. The worst areas for homeowners? New York City and Hartford because of high property taxes.
