Hot Lawn Mower Causes Structure Fire In Stearns Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A lawn mower is believed to be the cause of a structure fire in Stearns County.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, around 7 p.m. officers received a call of a structure fire on the 19500 block of Schackman Lake Road in Luxemburg Township.

Upon arrival, deputies found a shed fully engulfed in flames and a nearby dairy barn also on fire.

Officials believe the fire started after a hot lawn mower sparked a flame on a patch of straw in the shed.

Crews were able to put the fire out. No people or livestock were injured.

The fire is still under investigation.
