2 In 5 Americans Don't Take Any Vacation Time

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Monday marks Labor Day, and many are taking the day off from work.

However, 41 percent of employers do have some staff working during the holiday.

What's even more surprising is that approximately 40 percent of U.S. workers don't take a single vacation day all year.

According to the study that claims these findings, workers are quick to come up with their own barriers preventing them from taking time off.

Some of the reasons are that they don't want to return to a backlog of unfinished work, they don't want to open up the perception that they're expendable, and some also say they can't afford to use their time off.
