Vikings Give Shout-Out To Harambe Before Beating Titans

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Sports is often all about routines and rituals, and nowhere is it more event than football.

One of the trademarks of the NFL is the pregame ritual, where players gather in the tunnel to get themselves fired up before taking the field. The Vikings beat the Tennessee Titans 25-16 with the help of two defensive touchdowns, and they got off to a slow start despite an interesting pregame routine.

Chad Greenway, one of the captains of the Vikings defense, gathered the team before taking the field and led a chant, "Spoons out for Harambe." They then got their hands out as if they were eating with a spoon.

Harambe became an internet sensation after the gorilla from the Cincinnati Zoo was put down for dragging a small child around a cage. The child had entered the gorilla's habitat, and Harambe was eventually shot and killed.
