Vikings-Packers Game To Feature Fundraiser For Wetterling Resource Center
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Vikings and Packers fans at U.S. Bank Stadium will have a chance to honor Jacob Wetterling's memory with a donation on Sunday.
On Friday, the Vikings announced a partnership with the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center (JWRC) for Sunday's game in Minneapolis. Football fans will be able to text a number that will instantly donate $11 to the organization for missing and exploited children.
The team says they'll cover the cost of the campaign, and kick off the fundraiser with an $11,000 donation. Officials say the campaign will also include a video at U.S. Bank Stadium, as well as on-field recognition of the JWRC.
The campaign is part of the ongoing #11ForJacob project from the JWRC. Using Jacob's football number, the JWRC is making 11 requests of those who wish to honor Jacob's memory:
1. Be fair
2. Be kind
3. Be understanding
4. Be honest
5. Be thankful
6. Be a good sport
7. Be a good friend
8. Be joyful
9. Be generous
10. Be gentle with others
11. Be positive
