The family of the man who attacked shoppers at a St. Cloud mall Saturday said they are devastated by what happened.
Dahir Adan, 20, stabbed 10 people before he was shot to death inside Macy’s by an off-duty police officer.
Through their attorney, the family expressed their deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and said they were praying for the victims’ speedy recovery. The family also said they are committed to fully cooperating with law enforcement.
The FBI is still looking into the attack as a potential act of terrorism.
Authorities are still trying to figure out what motivated a naturalized U.S. Citizen from Afghanistan to allegedly carry out a series of weekend bombings in New York and New Jersey.
Ahmad Khan Rahami was taken into custody Monday after a violent confrontation with police in Linden, New Jersey.
The 28-year-old now faces attempted murder and gun charges, and federal prosecutors could soon level terror charges against him.
The Department of Transportation will release guidelines for the testing and deployment of self-driving vehicles.
They detail how the vehicles should perform, and include a model for state policies. They also include a 15-point safety assessment for vehicles, which is left open-ended.
The government is also talking about how the cars could hurt employment options.

Now, Minnesotans can get a taste of the tropics without traveling very far.
Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville restaurant will open at Mall of America Tuesday.
It’s a first in Minnesota.
Patrons can sip on house-made margaritas and enjoy signature menu items like the Cheeseburger in Paradise.
