Report: Twins To Hire Derek Falvey As President Of Baseball Operations

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins appear to be closing in on a final candidate to take over a front office in need of several changes.

According to multiple reports, Derek Falvey will be hired as the new president of baseball operations for the Twins. Falvey, 32, is currently an assistant general manager with the Cleveland Indians and is considered one of the bright, innovative young minds in baseball.

Twins officials have to yet to make an announcement, but did say the process was "still ongoing." The search for a new head in the front office began back in July when Terry Ryan was fired as general manager. Rob Antony filled in as interim general manager.

The Twins have one week left in the regular season, and lost their 100th game of the season on their final home game Sunday.
