St. Cloud Police: 2 Suspects Sought In Armed Motel Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Cloud police say they are investigating after two men robbed an America's Best Value Inn and Suites late Sunday night.

According to police, officers responded to a report at 11:40 p.m. of an armed robbery at the motel, located on the 500 block of Highway 10 South.

There, police say a suspect entered the business, confronted a 24-year-old male employee, pointed a black handgun at him and demanded money. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash and left.

Police say video surveillance also showed a second suspect entering the store before the robbery and propping a back door open where the first suspect eventually entered.

The first suspect is described as a 6-foot black man in his mid-20s to mid-30s, 180 pounds wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark baggie jeans, black shoes and a black bandana covering his face. The second suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s wearing jeans, a black T-shirt and a black cap.

A search for the suspects ensued after the robbery, but was unsuccessful.

The victim was not injured and there were no other employees or guest in the area during the robbery.
