Patrol: 2 Killed In Multiple-Vehicle Crash Involving 2 Semis In Douglas Co.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles – two being semis – in Douglas County Tuesday morning.
According to the state patrol, shortly before 6 a.m. a 2017 Freightliner was stopped and pulled over on the right shoulder of westbound Interstate 94 at mile post 112. A 2013 GMC Sierra also going westbound then veered into the right shoulder and strucked the trailer of the stopped Freightliner. A Volvo semi then struck the GMC, which was partially in the westbound lane.
The driver and passenger in the GMC were killed. The driver is identified as 40-year-old Calvin Hess of North Dakota while the passenger is identified as 39-year-old Myron Bishop of Montana.
The driver of the Volvo, 65-year-old Larry Winter of Hoffman, Minnesota, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Freightliner, 28-year-old Terrence Conway of Louisiana, suffered no apparent injuries.
