St. Cloud Police: Charges Could Come Down On Wrong-Way Driver

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in St. Cloud say assault charges could come down on a wrong-way driver who caused a crash last week that sent a man to the hospital.

The crash happened last Friday afternoon on the intersection of Highway 23 and 7th Avenue South.

Twenty-eight-year-old Mohamed Hassan Rage, of St. Cloud, was going east in the westbound lanes of Highway 23, police say.

Rage struck 40-year-old Daren Scot Protolipac, who was making a left-hand turn onto the highway from 7th Avenue.

Protolipac, of Sauk Rapids, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.

Rage was also taken to a hospital for a mental health review.

Police say the case is being sent to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office for possible second-degree assault charges against Rage.

Please post the Islamic State GoFund Me link for Mohamed Rage. Not all of us can afford private lessons on how to steer a jumbo jet and rely on passenger vehicles to do the job. Help us provide at least commercial truck rentals with appropriate cargo so those less fortunate like Mohamed can be more effective.
