MNfusion: Mexican Chefs Takeover 3 Restaurants For Sabores CDMX

Diners at three Twin Cities restaurants can experience a treat from south of the boarder this week.

From Oct. 13 through 15, Heyday, Monello and Sea Change are participating in Sabores CDMX.

Started in 2015, Sabores CDMX was a collaborative effort between Mexico City officials and its restaurant scene to promote its local gastronomy movement.

Each rotation, a U.S. city is chosen as a host. Then, the program pairs locally renowned chefs from Mexico City and the host city to create special dishes that evoke Mexican flavors.

This year, Minneapolis-St. Paul was chosen.

Chefs Jim Christiansen (Heyday), Ryan Cook (Sea Change) and Mike DeCamp (Monello) will surrender their kitchens to Chefs Arturo Fernández, Fernando Martínez, Diego Niño and Cesar Vázquez Trejo to allow them to cook up limited items from a authentic Mexican menu.

The menus will be available during each participating restaurants evening hours.

In addition to the meals, participating diners are qualified to enter a contest for a trip to Mexico City. To enter the contest, diners need to follow @Sabores_CDMX on Instagram and use the hashtag #MexicoCityFlavors.

No advance tickets are needed to purchase the meal, but reservations are encouraged. For more information, visit Sabores CDMX online.
