MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a shooting in south Minneapolis that left a father and two children dead last month was a murder-suicide.

On Sept. 30, police found a man and two children dead in an apartment on the 5400 block of 34th Avenue South, near Lake Nokomis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said 39-year-old Luis Eduardo Ronquillo Alvarado died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The medical examiner identified the two young victims of the shooting as Luis Ronquillo, 13, and Nahily Ronquillo, 10.

Maria Romero, Luis Eduardo's ex-wife, was also shot, but survived.
