St. Paul Man Faces Charges For Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A St. Paul man is facing charges after his DNA was found on a 13-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted.

According to the criminal complaint, in April, a 13-year-old girl told police she was sexually assaulted in the basement of a home on Albemarle Street in St. Paul.

Officers went to the home and spoke to the occupants. They found beer cans and cigar wrappers on the floor of the basement.

Police identified Steven Pierre Williams, 18, as one of the men who was present during the girl's assault.

A sexual assault examination performed on the 13-year-old revealed the presence of semen.

Police arrested Williams, and during an interview he said he went to the house for a friend's birthday. His friend brought girls over, he said, and Williams went downstairs and asked the 13-year-old for oral sex. He told police she said no and he went back upstairs. He repeatedly denied having sexual contact with the girl, the complaint states.

Williams told police he thought the girl was between 13 and 15 years old. After Williams provided a DNA sample which matched that found on the girl, he told police he had sex with the girl and that she was OK with it.

Williams is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct.
