MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in the north metro say one man is in custody and another is injured following a shooting Wednesday morning during a small-scale marijuana deal.

The Anoka County Sheriff says the shooting happened around 3 a.m. in Spring Lake Park. The victim, a 19-year-old Pine Circles man, told authorities at the hospital that the shooting happened during a marijuana deal.

The shooter was an acquaintance of the victim, and a SWAT team arrested him at his home around 5:30 a.m. The sheriff identified the suspected shooter as 20-year-old Johnell Edward Stampley of Spring Lake Park.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, and he's expected to survive his injuries, officials said.

Stampley is being held at the Anoka County Jail pending formal charges.
