St. Paul Police Looking For Tips On Van Possibly Involved In Sexual Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul police are asking for the public's help to find the man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint.

The 41-year-old woman said the man pulled up in a minivan next to her as she was walking on Payne Avenue near Geranium Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

After asking if she needed a ride, the man got out and forced her at gunpoint into the van, where he sexually assaulted her. He then drove a half a block away and told her to get out.

The attacker is described as a black man, about 6-feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black ski mask, heavily-worn baseball hat over a stocking cap, black pants, and possibly a lighter-colored coat over a sweatshirt. The man was driving a newer tan or light-colored minivan with a sliding rear door on each side.

If you have any information, call St. Paul police.
