Veg Fest Coming To U Of M's Coffman Union

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One of the country's largest food festivals is coming to the University of Minnesota!

The Twin Cities Veg fest, celebrating vegetarian, vegan and other healthy lifestyles, will take place Saturday and Sunday on the U of M campus.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., omnivores, vegetarians and vegans can explore hundreds of exhibits featuring local chefs, farms and producers. There will also be free food samples, cooking demos and presentations.

The theme for the 2016 festival is "Celebrate Compassion."

The keynote speaker is global animal rights advocate Marco Antonio Regil. Regil shares his story of growing up poor in Tijuana to pursuing a career in broadcasting with audience worldwide.

As an advocate, Regil works to promote animal welfare and sustainability.

Twin Cities Veg Fest takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Coffman Memorial at the U of M.
