Woman Dies From Injuries In Downtown Minneapolis Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say a woman injured in a downtown Minneapolis shooting back in September died from her injuries Saturday night.

The incident happened just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 5 near the intersection of 5th Street and Hennepin Avenue. The woman was one of two people shot. A man also shot in the back during the incident was not seriously injured.

The woman was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center after being shot in the hip. She died Saturday night due to complications of a gunshot wound. She was identified as 28-year-old Jenna Rae Heilman.

The gunman fled from the scene after the incident but was later arrested.
