Blue Earth County Sheriff: 2 Significant Burglaries May Be Related

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities in Blue Earth County are investigating two burglaries that they believe are related.

According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff, the crimes took place on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5. In the first incident, thousands of dollars worth of antique coins, precious metals and jewelry were stolen from a home in the City of Lake Crystal.

In the second incident, numerous electronics, tools and a firearm were taken from a rural residence south of Mankato.

Investigators say both burglaries occurred during the day, when the occupants weren't home. Police say homeowners should always make sure their home and valuables are secured when going out of town.
