Despite Mild Temps, Snow's Fallen At Trollhaugen

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota is seeing record-breaking late autumn heat this year, but that's no reason for skiing enthusiasts to be down in the dumps.

Crews at Trollhaugen Ski Area announced that, after temperatures dropped overnight, the ski area's "snow trolls" tested the snow cannons.

Trollhaugen is located about an hour north of the Twin Cities.

The Twin Cities continues to extend the current record-breaking streak for the latest date for an overnight freeze. Up until this year, the latest in the year the metro area has seen temperatures dip below freezing was back in 1900.

It also marks the longest growing season on record, based on the number of days we've had between 32-degree days.
