Wander Minnesota: Thanksgiving Feasts
Thanksgiving is next week. Have you figured out where you'll enjoy your turkey yet? No?
Well, there are still options if you don't feel like cooking. But, be sure to make reservations as soon as possible!
Nicollet Island Inn offers excellent food in beautiful surroundings. Thanksgiving dinner is comprised of a four-course dinner with options for turkey, prime rib, salmon or a vegetarian entrée. Pumpkin pie or chocolate mousse is available for dessert. Bonus: You'll leave the restaurant with a turkey-cranberry aioli sandwich. Leftovers FTW.
Jax Cafe will be open too and has a large menu of options. Meal options include a traditional Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, or several other choices including pheasant and lobster. Appetizers include green bean casserole and Polish sausage.
Liven up the Thanksgiving dinner with some live music. The Dakota Jazz Club presents "Thanksgiving with Robert Robinson." Robinson is a gospel singer and will perform starting at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $30.
Wayzata's 6Smith is offering a Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The buffet includes a combination of traditional items and unique offerings too (lobster scrambled eggs, anyone?).
Afton House Inn also offers a buffet. The Afton House Inn buffet is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The menu includes turkey, ham and pot roast, along with mashed red potatoes and squash gratin. Or you can order ahead to get the whole meal to go.
There are also several less traditional options available.
For example, Moscow on the Hill will be open on Thanksgiving, and you can feast on Chicken Kiev or Beef Stroganoff if turkey isn't your favorite.
Minneapolis' Quang Vietnamese will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving, giving you options for flavorful pho, noodle salads and banh mi sandwiches.
Maybe you'd like to have dinner at home but not cook. There's still time to order pre-cooked dinners from various locations (but hurry—they need to be ordered in advance).

Birchwood Cafe – which offers pies and sides.
Several local food co-ops also offer Thanksgiving options too. Those include: the Wedge, Mississippi Market, Eastside, Valley Natural Foods, and Lakewinds.
