Victim In St. Paul Homicide ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – St. Paul police have identified the victim from Sunday's death investigation.

The victim is 35-year-old Thomas Joseph Rivard, of St. Paul Park.

Police said around 8 p.m. officers were called to a report of an assault on the 500 block of Aldine Street North. Upon arrival, they found an injured man, later identified as Rivard.

Rivard later died on the scene.

Joseph Edward Fischer, 37, was detained at the scene and brought in for questioning. He was eventually arrested in connection with the crime.

Police have not released details of the assault.
