Minnesotan Wins Cross-Country Ski World Cup In Norway

LILLEHAMMER, Norway (AP) — American Jessie Diggins clinched her second individual World Cup victory on Saturday, beating overall leader Heidi Weng by 4.8 seconds on the 5-kilometer cross-country course.

Diggins won in 12 minutes, 40.3 seconds.

"I skied as fast as I could and I had fun on the course," said Diggins, who is third overall, 21.6 seconds behind Weng.

Marit Bjoergen of Norway was third on Saturday — 15.8 seconds behind Diggins.

Sweden's Calle Halfvarsson won the men's 10K race in 23:04.9, beating teammate Marcus Hellner by 0.8.

Overall, Halfvarsson leads Sergey Ustiugov of Russia by 28.1 seconds.
