MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say a suspect who robbed a bank in Blaine Tuesday morning was arrested a short time later at Northtown Mall.

Blaine police were called at about 9:42 a.m. to a hold up alarm at the TCF Bank at 331 County Road 10 NE in Blaine. When officers arrived, they learned a suspect had used a threatening letter to demand money. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Shortly after, an officer on scene saw a potential suspect crossing County Road 10 and heading towards Northtown Mall. The suspect matched a description given to officers.

With the assistance of departments from Fridley, Spring Lake Park, Coon Rapids and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the male suspect was located in the area of the Metro Transit Bus Hub at the mall. He was taken into custody without incident.
