St. Paul School Board Approves Plan To Change School Start Times

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Big changes may be coming for students in St. Paul Public Schools.

The city's school board voted 4-3 at a Tuesday night meeting to change school start times. Details aren't yet hammered out, and the change wouldn't go into effect until the 2018-2019 school year.

According to the motion approved by the board, "the objective of the change is to align school start times with the health and academic best interests of SPPS students."

The superintendent will be in charge of developing a plan for the new start times.
