Mpls. Board Of Education Declares MPS 'Safe Haven'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Public Schools is now declared a safe haven.

In a unanimous vote Tuesday, the Minneapolis Board of Education declared the district as a safe haven.

The board said it is not the role of Minneapolis Public Schools to ask about citizenship or immigration status of any of its students or families.

That's unless required by law or a valid court order.
