Busy Beaver Bites In Utility Pole Near Walker
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One hungry beaver in northern Minnesota has demonstrated its pretty expensive taste.
Lake Country Power posted pictures to Facebook Wednesday showing how the beaver had damaged a utility pole near Walker.
The picture shows that it had been chomped nearly through at the base.
The energy company said it's only seen beavers do this a handful of times in the last decade.
They also reported the average cost to replace a power pole is close to $3,000.
When the replacement pole goes up, crews plan to wrap the base in metal to keep beavers away. Beavers such as this cute little critter:
