Portillo's Opens 1st Minnesota Location In Woodbury
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Chicago restaurant chain is coming to Minnesota.
Portillo's announced Friday morning they plan to open in Woodbury in July. Owners told WCCO it's the first of what will be many Minnesota restaurants.
They said they are looking at opening in Maple Grove, Eagan, Hudson, Wis., Rochester and St. Cloud.
Portillo's is a fast-casual concept known for its Chicago-style dogs, Italian beef, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads and famous chocolate cake.
It has a 1920s theme -- think Prohibition era. It also has a drive-thru and outdoor patio.
They plan to break ground in Woodbury in the coming months, and open next summer.
