Legislature Looking At Expanding Bar Closing Time To 4 A.M.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Think the bars close too early? A new bill introduced in the Minnesota Legislature is proposing to extend closing time from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.
In 2003, Minnesota extended bar hours to 2 a.m. while North Dakota stayed with a 1 a.m. closing time.
The bill has a hearing scheduled in the Minnesota house on Wednesday.
The issue originally came up in discussion as a temporary measure for the 2018 Super Bowl weekend, which will be held at U.S. Bank Stadium.
