Fire In Miltona Leaves Home Destroyed, 2 Dogs Dead

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two dogs were killed in a fire that completely destroyed a home in central Minnesota Sunday afternoon.

Miltona homeowner Nick Kaufman reported the fire to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office around 12:15 p.m.

Two fire departments responded, and though they extinguished the fire, the home was a total loss.

Kaufman said a wood stove was being used in the home. He also said he and the other occupants were unable to get their two family dogs out in time.
