MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Firefighters rescued a woman who was pinned under a train in northeast Minneapolis Saturday afternoon.

Crews successfully extricated her from beneath the train near the 3600 block of Central Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

The woman was hospitalized. Her condition is unknown at this time.

A spokesperson for Candian Pacific Railway said the crew saw a woman standing on the tracks and tried to warn her, but they were unable to stop the train in time.

The spokesperson also said the train is blocking Polk and Fillmore streets and they are unsure when it will be moved.
