Sheriff: Man’s Body Found In Lake Minnetonka

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials say a body was recovered Thursday afternoon from Lake Minnetonka.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found the body of 65-year-old David Charles Carlson, from Blaine, at about 4 p.m. in Smith’s Bay.

Crews had been searching the lake since an abandoned sailboat was found Wednesday afternoon.

The county medical examiner has not released the cause and manner of death.

Lake Minnetonka is one of Minnesota’s largest and popular lakes. It’s located about 15 miles west of Minneapolis.
