MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Is clutter piling up, filling closets, the basement of the garage?

Turns out, it's hard for most people to throw things away! Especially if the items have sentimental meaning.

But now, new research said there may be a simple way to make letting go easier.

The study encourages people to take a photo of old keepsakes.

People who did, were about 15 to 35 percent more likely to donate sentimental items to charity than those who did not take pictures first.
