ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — Police in St. Paul are investigating a shooting at St. Catherine University.
Investigators say a security guard was shot on campus near Derham Hall Tuesday night. He was transported to Regions Hospital and his injuries are considered not life threatening.
St. Paul Police say the officer, who was not armed, noticed someone in a wooded area of the campus. When the officer confronted the person, he shot the officer in the shoulder and fled.
St. Catherine safety officials say the campus is on lockdown while police are searching the surrounding area for the shooter.
