Study: Your Smartphone Could Be Contributing To Your Bad Mood

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Can your smartphone put you in a bad mood? New research says it indeed can.

A new study by British researchers says nearly a third of notifications from your smartphone trigger negative emotions.

The researchers say the biggest mood-busters are notifications related to work, along with non-human notifications, like phone updates and Wi-Fi availability.

Conversely, notifications from friends reportedly buoyed participants' moods, and helped foster feelings group belonging.
