Testing Finds No CWD In Deer Taken In Opener

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — During the deer hunting opener last week, the DNR had new, mandatory testing for deer shot in 11 Minnesota counties.

The DNR was looking for signs of chronic wasting disease, a deadly brain disease.

The results came back, and the DNR says the disease was not detected in any wild deer in this latest round of expanded testing.

The disease was found in two captive dear last year.
