Americans Spending Less On Big Gifts This Season

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Americans seem to be spending less on big-ticket items this Christmas.

A new survey shows nearly 55 percent of Americans will buy a gift that costs at least $50 this holiday season.

It's not just people with modest incomes spending less.

Four in 10 of those polled who made more than $80,000 a year said their most expensive gift would cost under $100.
