Champlin Mayor Welcomes Super Bowl Visitors With Message In Snow

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The mayor of a city in the north metro is welcoming Super Bowl visitors in a uniquely Minnesotan way.

Champlin Mayor Ryan Karasek used his snow blower to carve a massive welcome message into the snow.

On behalf of Champlin I wanted to extend a warm welcome to all those flying in this week to MN for the Super Bowl. :) #SuperBowl52 #LivChamplin

Karasek said he did it on his own time and it took him about four days.

If you want to see the welcome for yourself, it is located northwest of Champlin City Hall near the intersection of West Hayden Lake Road and Cobblestone Road.

Karasek said the area does see flight traffic.
